San Jose Sharks reassign forward Matt Jones to Phoenix

SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced that the club has reassigned forward Matt Jones to the Phoenix Road Runners in the ECHL from the Worcester Sharks, the team's top development affiliate in the American Hockey League.
The 22-year-old rookie played in four games with the Worcester Sharks this season recording one point (1-0-1) along with 2 penalty minutes and a -2 rating. He has missed 18 games due to injury.
The 6-foot-4, 205-pound Kentwood, Michigan native spent last season with at Merrimack College appearing in 34 games recoding 22 points (15-7-22) along with 60 penalty minutes. He also played in Worcester at the end of last season, registering 3 points (2-1-3) in 7 games.
