Checkers Nightingale Called Up to Hartford

Charlotte, N.C. - The Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League announced today that they have signed Charlotte Checkers defenseman Jared Nightingale to a Professional Tryout (PTO) agreement.

Nightingale, 6-feet-3, 210 pounds, is playing in his second year with the Checkers. Last season, he suited up in 65 games with Charlotte scoring three goals, 11 assists for 14 points with a team leading 196 penalty minutes. The previous season also brought two call ups to the AHL when Nightingale dressed for both the Wolf Pack and Chicago Wolves playing in two and five games respectively but didn't register a point for either team. This season, Nightingale skated in 22 games for Charlotte tallying six assists and a league leading 106 penalty minutes for a defenseman.

Nightingale is a four year product of Michigan State University and was a member of the Kelly Cup Championship Idaho Steelheads during the 2006-07 season.

The Checkers are currently in their 16th season of play as a member of the ECHL. The next home game will take place Dec. 17th against the Elmira Jackals at 7 p.m.
