THIS WEEK'S GAMES Friday, March 3 vs. Grand Rapids Griffins AT&T Center, 7:30 p.m. (CT) The Rampage return to the AT&T Center for the first time in 27 days to host the 14th Annual Military Appreciation Night against the Central Divi- sion-leading Grand Rapids Griffins. Dating back to the 2011-12 season, the Rampage are 8-0-1-1 against Grand Rapids in the AT&T Center, out- scoring the Griffins 30-19. Former Rampage captain and current Grand Rapids player Ben Street will revisit the Alamo City for the first time since last season when he suited up for the Silver and Black.
Sunday, March 5 vs. Texas Stars AT&T Center, 3 p.m. (CT) San Antonio will play the Texas Stars for the 10th time this season in a Sunday matinee game at the AT&T Center. Forward Rocco Grimaldi's four goals against the Stars leads Rampage scorers against the I-35 rivals.
Grimaldi is coming off of a team-leading eighth multiple-point game, con- tributing one goal and one assist during Sunday afternoon's contest against Manitoba. THIS WEEK'S SCHEDULE 2016-17 SCHEDULE/RESULTS Rampage defenseman Sergei Boikov contributed one goal and one assist en route to his third multiple-point effort during Saturday night's game against Manitoba. In the last 12 games, the rookie has contributed five points, including two multiple-point efforts and two power-play goals. He has tallied 13 points, including three goals and 10 assists with the Ram- page this season. ICE CHIPS: Sergei Boikov- Rampage Defenseman WESTERN CONFERENCE STANDINGS SHOTS ON SHOTS: The Rampage tied its season-high 39 shots on goal in Satur- day night's contest against the Moose. It was the second time the team recorded as many shots with the first coming at Rockford on Dec. 7, 2016. San Antonio recorded a new season-high 23 shots during the first period. The last time a Rampage team recorded 23 shots or more was on April 17, 2015 in the third stanza of a 3-2 loss to Texas. In addition, San Antonio limited the Moose to a season-low two shots in the same frame, the third time to do so this year.
CHECK-IN WITH COLORADO: Goaltender Jeremy Smith earned his first NHL win in Saturday night's victory over the Buffalo Sabres. The eight-year pro leads Ava- lanche netminders in save percentages at .914 percent, stopping 96 shots on goal in three games. Former Rampage forward Mikko Rantanen earned his 30th point of the season, an assist, during Colorado's Feb. 25 5-3 victory over the Sabres. In the last 15 games, Rantanen has contributed 12 points, including his first NHL hat trick on Feb. 7 vs. the Montreal Canadiens. Rantanen has contributed 14 goals and 16 as- sists in 54 games and ranks third among Avalanche scorers.
MULTIPOINT MADNESS: San Antonio registered three multiple-point efforts in this weekend's series against Manitoba. On Saturday night, Sergei Boikov collected his third multiple-point game of the year, registering a goal and an assist. On Sunday afternoon, Rocco Grimaldi and J.T. Compher tallied the eighth and sixth multiple-point contests of the season, respectively. Grimaldi leads the team in multiple-point efforts, contributing 17 points, including nine goals and eight assists, in eight multiple-point games. The team will wear special military-themed jerseys that will be auctioned off following the game with a portion of proceeds benefitting Operation Comfort. The Ram- page have raised more than $271,000 to benefit San Antonio's military community in the past 12 years. Additionally, the Rampage will honor the Rampage Sled Hockey Team during the second intermission.
