Johansson Recalled by Blackhawks

CHICAGO, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have recalled goaltender Lars Johansson from the Rockford Icehogs.

Johansson, 29, has posted a record of 11-11-4-2 with a 2.66 GAA, .907 save percentage and two shutouts in 30 appearances with the IceHogs this season. The Avesta, Sweden native made his AHL debut on Oct. 14 at Cleveland and has gone 4-0-0-3 with a 1.76 GAA over his last seven games since Jan. 14.

Johansson was also previously recalled on Dec. 4. He served in a backup role with the Blackhawks for nine games before being reassigned to Rockford on Dec. 20.

Prior to making his North American pro debut, Johansson was named the Swedish Hockey League's 2015-16 Goaltender of the Year after leading the league in GAA (1.74) and save percentage (.927) in 37 games with Frolunda.

Next Home Game: Tuesday, Feb. 28 vs. Manitoba Moose at 7 p.m. The IceHogs host the Moose in the fifth season matchup between the two teams. Tuesday is a Fas Fuel Winning Weekday and a WXRX Dollar Day featuring $2 beers, sodas, hot dogs and companion tickets, and if the IceHogs win every fan in attendance can redeem their ticket for a FREE ticket to the next weekday home game.
