Detroit Recalls Coreau and Miller

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Detroit Red Wings have recalled goaltender Jared Coreau and forward Drew Miller from the Grand Rapids Griffins.

In his two-game conditioning stint this past weekend - his first game action since Feb. 12 - Coreau finished 1-1 with a 3.01 goals against average and a 0.913 save percentage. He stopped 39 shots in Grand Rapids' 6-2 win versus Milwaukee on Saturday.

In 19 games with the Griffins this season, the fourth-year pro sports a 12-7-0 record with one shutout while placing eighth in the AHL with a 2.27 GAA and tying teammate Eddie Pasquale for seventh with a 0.922 save percentage.

The 158th Griffins alumnus to debut in the NHL, the 25-year-old Coreau shows a 5-3-3 record to go along with a 3.27 GAA, a 0.893 save percentage and two shutouts in 13 games during his first season with the Red Wings.

A native of Perth, Ontario, Coreau continues to climb up the Griffins' goaltending record book with 57 wins (4th), 10 shutouts (T3rd), 96 games played (5th), 5557:19 minutes (5th), 2,612 saves (4th), and a career 2.41 GAA (7th). Coreau has appeared in four Calder Cup Playoff contests, showing a 2-2 record with a 2.21 GAA.

The Northern Michigan University product has also played parts of two seasons for the ECHL's Toledo Walleye (2013-15), showing a 6-16-6 record and a 3.75 GAA.

Playing in the American Hockey League for the first time since 2008-09, Miller skated in seven games with the Griffins this season, contributing three points (2-1 - 3) and a plus-two rating.

The 32-year-old Miller has played in 35 games with the Red Wings this year, totaling six points (5-1 - 6) and 14 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-2, 183-pound winger has skated in 484 games with the Red Wings since 2009-10 and contributed 106 points (56-50 - 106). In 44 postseason contests in Detroit, Miller has 10 points (4-6 - 10).

Playing 10 years in the NHL, Miller has logged 551 career regular season games between Anaheim, Tampa Bay and Detroit and recorded 121 points (62-59 - 121). Anaheim's sixth choice (186th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, he appeared in three playoff games as a first-year pro with the Ducks in 2006-07, helping the team win the Stanley Cup. In total, he has played in 60 career Stanley Cup Playoff games and scored 13 points (6-7 - 13).

Miller has played parts of five seasons (2005-09, 2016-17) in the AHL between Portland, Iowa and Grand Rapids and amassed 113 points (57-56 - 113) in 170 games. He also skated in 23 games with the Braehead Clan in the EIHL during the 2012-13 season and scored 30 points (15-15 - 30).

The Central Division-leading Griffins begin a seven-game road trip at Cleveland on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
