Stockton, Calif. - Hunter Smith nets an insurance marker - on his bobblehead night nonetheless - as the Stockton Heat score three unanswered goals to defeat the Texas Stars 4-1 Sunday evening at Stockton Arena. Mark Jankowski scored his team-leading 17th goal that would become the eventual game-winner, while Daniel Pribyl opened the scoring with his first goal in 12 games. Not to be outdone, David Rittich was spectacular between the pipes, stopping 27 of the 28 shots he faced to carry Stockton to victory. The Heat will now focus on another tough matchup at home when the Ontario Reign travel to Stockton Arena for a midweek clash this coming Wednesday.

QUOTES "We made a good turnover in the neutral zone there. [Linden Vey] made a good play and took it across the blueline and I actually didn't think I was going to make it to the net on time. He just dropped a little pass for me and I banged it home, five-hole. Obviously, it's nice for me, I sat the last few (games) so it was good for my confidence to get one." - Hunter Smith on his goal.

"Everyone was watching, my parents and everyone was excited so it was nice to get one on a special night like that." - Smith on scoring on his bobblehead night.

"It was a great play all around. [Garnet] Hathaway got it and skated up the boards with it and he tried a little dangle around the defense and he got it through and the puck just kind of popped out to me and I could throw it out in the open net there." - Mark Jankowski on scoring his goal.

"We know what David [Rittich] is going to bring every time he's in the pipes so it's huge for us. We know he's back there for us if we make a mistake or something. You could say he was the difference tonight." - Jankowski on the play of David Rittich between the pipes tonight.

"I think we'd be kidding ourselves to say we're just an all offensive, talented team. I think our struggles over the last while have been well-documented. We have to work for our opportunities, we have to work for our chances - last night we didn't do that. I thought they were much hungrier than we were the first two periods and tonight, I thought as the game got going, I thought we got our engines firing as the night wore on." - Head Coach Ryan Huska on tonight's win.

"I think if we can get our power play clicking here, we did get one tonight, whether that was an empty-netter, we'll take it right now. If we can get that going with a little bit more consistency, where it's dangerous, more of a threat all the time then I think we can rattle off a few more wins and keep ourselves in the mix here." - Coach Huska on getting the power play going.
