Flanagan Scores Lone Goal in B-Sens' 3-1 Loss at Hartford

HARTFORD, CT - The Binghamton Senators fell 3-1 against the Hartford Wolf Pack on Sunday evening in the final visit to the XL Center. 

Kyle Flanagan scored the lone goal of the first period when he capitalized on the final seconds of a B-Sens power play at the 18:09 mark. Ben Harpur skated the puck up the left hand side and found Chris Rumble at the top of the right faceoff circle. Rumble sent a cross ice pass to Flanagan who sent home a slap shot from the faceoff dot for his ninth of the year. Binghamton took the one goal lead to the first intermission outshooting Hartford 14-8. 

The Wolf Pack tied up the game halfway through the middle frame when Matt Carey deflected in a shot from Adam Tambellini for his 13th goal of the season. The teams went to the final intermission tied 1-1 with the B-Sens leading the shots 19-14.

Steven Fogarty broke the tie with seven minutes to play in the final frame on a two-on-one rush. Fogarty and Chris Brown skated into the B-Sens zone and Fogarty released a shot that beat Chris Driedger for his sixth goal of the year. Steven Kampfer also picked up an assist to help bring the score to 2-1.

Nicklas Jensen added an insurance goal with four minutes left to play when he sent an almost identical shot to Fogarty's past Driedger. John Gilmour was the lone assist on Jensen's 23rd goal of the year. 

Driedger had 18 saves in the losing effort while Magnus Hellberg stopped 26 saves for the win.
