
CLEVELAND MONSTERS: Blue Jackets Claim Dalpe on Waivers, Assign

CLEVELAND - The AHL's defending Calder Cup Champions, the Cleveland Monsters, proudly powered by Constellation, announced Monday that the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets claimed eighth-year forward Zac Dalpe off waivers from the NHL's Minnesota Wild and assigned the former Carolina Hurricanes second-round pick (45th overall in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft) to the Monsters. A 6'1", 192 lb. right-handed native of Paris, ON, Dalpe, 27, posted 1-2-3 with nine penalty minutes and an even rating in nine appearances for Minnesota this season and logged 2-0-2 in 12 games played this year for the AHL's Iowa Wild.
In 128 career NHL appearances for the Hurricanes, Vancouver Canucks, Buffalo Sabres and Wild spanning parts of seven seasons from 2010-17, Dalpe posted 12-12-24 with 23 penalty minutes and a -28 rating. In 250 career AHL appearances for the Albany River Rats, Charlotte Checkers, Utica Comets, Rochester Americans and Iowa spanning parts of eight seasons from 2010-17, Dalpe logged 89-86-175 with 76 penalty minutes and a +10 rating.
Prior to his professional career, Dalpe supplied 34-36-70 with 44 penalty minutes and a +19 rating in 76 NCAA appearances for the Ohio State University spanning two seasons from 2008-10 and served as an assistant captain for the Buckeyes during the 2009-10 campaign.
