
Monsters Fall, 5-2, to Marlies Forcing Decisive Game 5 in Cleveland on Sunday

TORONTO - The Cleveland Monsters fell to the Toronto Marlies 5-2 on Friday night at Coca-Cola Coliseum. With the loss, the Monsters and Marlies are tied in the best-of-five North Division Finals presented by Ten10 bringing the series back to Cleveland for Game 5 on Sunday, May 24, at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at clevelandmonsters.com/playoffs.
Toronto's Ryan Tverberg started the night with a power-play goal at 13:28 of the first period leaving Cleveland trailing 1-0 after 20 minutes. The Marlies added a second marker on the man advantage from Alex Nylander at 17:47 of the middle frame sending the Monsters to the final intermission trailing 2-0. Toronto's Henry Thrun netted a tally at 4:45 of the third period followed by a goal from Jacob Quillan at 12:53 bringing the score to 4-0. Jack Williams got the Monsters on the board with a goal at 17:21 assisted by Hudson Fasching and Will Butcher, but the Marlies added an empty-net tally from Tverberg at 18:22. Luca Del Bel Belluz added a power-play goal at 18:58 with helpers from Williams and Luca Marrelli bringing the final score to 5-2.
Cleveland's Zach Sawchenko stopped 21 shots in the loss while Toronto's Artur Akhtyamov made 36 saves for the win.
