November 15, 2017 - ECHL (ECHL)
Rapid City Rush News Release
(RAPID CITY, SD) - The Rapid City Rush, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Minnesota Wild, announced today that the team has traded forward Erik Bradford to the Toledo Walleye for forward Darian Dziurzynski.
Dziurzynski comes to the Rush having started the season in Slovakia before heading to Toledo. The 6'1", 205-pound forward played with HKM Svolen for 5 games, registering an assist, before adding 3 more assists in 10 games with the Walleye.
The season prior, Dziurzynski averaged over a point-per-game with the Manchester Storm in the EIHL, totaling 52 points (23g-29ast) in 50 games.
A native of Lloydminster, Alberta, Dziurzynski is in the early stages of his sixth season of professional hockey. His career of 310 games has taken him through England and Slovakia internationally, and through the American Hockey League and ECHL in North America. He skated in 181 of his 184 AHL games with the former Portland Pirates, scoring 26 goals with 17 assists for 43 points. In the ECHL in the 2015-16 season, he made stops with the Tulsa Oilers (9gp, 2g-2ast-4pts), Greenville Swamp Rabbits (35gp, 12g-11ast-23pts), and Missouri Mavericks (17gp, 10g-3ast-13pts).
Prior to playing professionally, Dziurzynski played 5 seasons and registered 161 points in 304 games with the WHL's Saskatoon Blades and Brandon Wheat Kings, and was drafted by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2011 NHL Draft (5th Rd-#141). He is the brother of former AHL Calder Cup Champion Dave Dziurzynski, who is currently playing in the ECHL with the Florida Everblades.
