Reading Royals News Release

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals are the only team in the Eastern Conference with a perfect home record and prepare for a week-long road trip to Manchester and Brampton. After playing Manchester at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, the team has two games against the Brampton Beast on Friday (7:15 p.m.) and Sunday (2 p.m.).

The Royals are 6-3-1-0 (13 points), good for fourth in the North Division. The top four teams from each division qualify for the Kelly Cup Playoffs.

The team won its last game, 5-1, against Jacksonville on Saturday at Santander Arena. The next home game is Tues., Nov. 21 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Adirondack and features a special postgame autograph session, presented by Rieck's Printing.

Big 3 Storylines

3) Royals support the Vets [Album]: The Royals and Icemen hold the flag together at Santander Arena.

The Reading community came out in force on Veterans' Day Saturday and the Royals had their largest crowd of the season against the Icemen.

The Royals gave $5 tickets to vets and honored their selfless contributions to protect our freedoms with specialty jerseys and multiple tributes throughout the night. In perhaps the most-touching moment, the Royals and Icemen came together on the ice before the game and jointly held the American flag along with local boy scouts.

2) Dekanich back, de Haas' promotion

The Royals received goalie Mark Dekanich on loan from Lehigh Valley and defenseman James de Haas was recalled by the Phantoms on Monday.

With the move, the Royals have their two goalies back from opening night; John Muse and Dekanich. The 10th-year professional Dekanich has a 3-2-0-0 record this season.

Saturday, de Haas had a professional-high four points (4a) and helped the Royals crush the Icemen, 5-1.

1) Home Bosses

The Royals are 5-0-0-0 this season at home, their second-best start ever at Santander Arena. In 2005-06, Reading began the season with seven straight home wins and didn't lose a home game until December 2.

The next two Royals home games are against Adirondack. The first game is Tues., Nov. 21 and then again for a Black Friday showdown on Fri., Nov. 24. Reading is 2-0-0-0 at home this season vs. the Thunder.

Reading is averaging five goals a game at home.
