Manchester Monarchs News Release

LAST WEEK'S HIGHLIGHTS vs. Hartford (11/26): Right wing Pavel Rosa recorded two goals for the Monarchs, but it was not enough as Hartford slipped by Manchester, 4-2, on Wednesday at the Hartford Civic Center. Goaltender Adam Hauser finished the night with 18 saves while suffering just his second loss of the season. vs. Lowell (11/28): Lowell beat Manchester, 4-1, with right wing Pavel Rosa scoring the lone goal for the Monarchs. Lowell's win at the Tsongas Arena evened the season series between the two rivals at two games apiece (2-2-0-0). The Los Angeles Kings recalled center Jerred Smithson and right wing John Tripp during the pre-game skate. That, coupled with injuries to left wing Chris Schmidt (fractured foot) and defenseman Denis Grebeshkov (sprained wrist), left the Monarchs with only 14 skaters, instead of the normal 17. The Monarchs found themselves with only 13 skaters by the second period after defenseman Joe Rullier received a game misconduct for failing to tie down his jersey. Goaltender Mathieu Chouinard appeared in his first game since returning from a conditioning assignment with the Reading Royals. He took the loss with 23 saves. vs. Providence (11/29): The Monarchs set a franchise record for largest margin of victory by beating the Providence Bruins, 7-0, at the Verizon Wireless Arena. The Monarchs received goals from forwards George Parros, Scott Barney, Dan Welch, Noah Clarke, Jeff Giuliano and Yanick Lehoux (2). Goaltender Adam Hauser made 20 saves for his sixth win and third shutout of the season. vs. Worcester (11/30): The Monarchs dropped their third straight road game as the Worcester IceCats skated away with a 5-3 victory at the Centrum Centre. Goaltender Milan Hnilicka was in net for the first time since suffering a broken bone on the ring finger of his catching hand (Tuesday, November 25). He took the loss, his fifth of the season. Forwards Scott Barney, Pavel Rosa and Dan Welch scored for the Monarchs.
