Bulldogs look to extend lead in North division

The Hamilton Bulldogs will look to extend their seven-point lead in the AHL's North Division this week as they will play three games in less than three days. The Bulldogs will host Hamilton native Ray Emery and the Binghamton Senators on Friday, December 5th (7:00 p.m.) at Copps Coliseum. After Friday's game the Bulldogs will travel to Cleveland to face the Barons for a Saturday 1:05 p.m. matinee game. Hamilton will conclude the weekend by taking on their QEW rivals, the Toronto Roadrunners at 3:30 p.m., at Copps Coliseum. This game will be seen live nationally on Rogers Sportsnet.

BULLDOGS SET NEW FRANCHISE MARK FOR CONSECUTIVE HOME WINS:

The Hamilton Bulldogs won a franchise record setting eighth consecutive home game, when they defeated the Rochester Americans 3-1 at Copps Coliseum on Saturday. The Bulldogs have won every game on home-ice dating back to November 7th. The previous record of seven consecutive home wins took place in the 2001-02 season (Nov. 2, 2001 - Dec. 1, 2001)

GRATTON THE AHL'S TOP POINT-GETTER:

Despite missing the past two games with an injury, Bulldogs captain Benoit Gratton continues to be the AHL's leading scorer. Gratton, who has 26 points, (11-15-26) is currently tied with Manchester's Pavel Rosa for the AHL scoring lead.

FICHAUD SECOND IN AHL WINS:

Hamilton Bulldogs goaltender Eric Fichaud currently has nine wins on the season. Fichaud only trails San Antonio's Travis Scott, who has recorded ten victories.

BULLDOGS CONTINUE SUCCESS IN OVERTIME:

The Bulldogs won their fifth overtime game of the year on Friday, as they defeated the Toronto Roadrunners 3-2. The Bulldogs are just one overtime win shy of tying their previous high of six overtime wins, which was set in the 2001-02 season. Last season the Bulldogs did not win a single regular season game in overtime.

SPECIAL TEAMS:

Hamilton's power play is currently 17th in the AHL operating at a 14.3% (14 for 98) success rate. The Bulldogs have killed off 86.2% (100 for 116) of their penalties.

JOE CAHILL HOSTS 'DOGBITES WEELY RADIO SHOW on 820 CHAM

Legendary radio personality Joe Cahill will host 'DOGBITES - a weekly half-hour Hamilton Bulldogs radio show on Hamilton's 820 CHAM. Bulldogs play-by-play announcer Derek Wills will join Joe Cahill. The weekly show will feature Bulldogs interviews, highlights from the past week, trivia and much more.

Toronto Roadrunners at Hamilton Bulldogs - Sunday, December 7 - 3:30 p.m.

The Bulldogs have earned two wins and two losses against the Roadrunners ... Chris Higgins (4-1-5) and Benoit Gratton (3-2-5) have led Hamilton offensively versus Toronto with five points each, respectively ... the Roadrunners have played an AHL high 17 games on the road already this season and have earned a record of (5-10-1-1) ...
