ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Round Rock Express (47-36) backed Evan Meek's third straight quality start with six runs of offense as the Express pushed past the New Orleans Zephyrs (41-42) Saturday night for a 6-2 victory at Dell Diamond.

Meek allowed just two runs over 6.0 innings, including three consecutive scoreless frames as the pitching staff stifled the New Orleans offense to earn a win in game three of a four-game series.

For the third straight game, New Orleans struck first. The Zephyrs used a leadoff double by center fielder Gorkys Hernandez to set the table. Hernandez stole third and later scored on a RBI groundout for the first run of the evening.

Round Rock battled back to tie the game in the second as right fielder Joey Butler continued his torrid pace, doubling for the fourth time in his last eight games to begin the frame. Center fielder Jim Adduci followed with a well-placed bunt down the third base line. Zephyrs third baseman Nick Green handled the slow roller but over threw his first baseman as the ball sailed into the stands, allowing Butler to cross the plate and Adduci to move to second. The Express was unable to push Adduci across the plate but did tie the game at one after two innings.

Hernandez caused havoc on the base paths again in the top of the third, tripling with one out before scoring for the second time after second baseman Donovan Solano lofted a sacrifice fly to give New Orleans a 2-1 advantage.

A walk to left fielder Aaron Cunningham and a double down the left field line off the bat of designated hitter Yangervis Solarte got the E-Train offense started in the bottom half of the third. Cunningham scored on a wild pitch by Zephyrs starter Brian Flynn while Solarte crossed the plate when Adduci reached on a throwing error to put the Express back in the driver's seat, 3-2.

After Butler and Adduci each singled with two outs in the fifth, first baseman Mike Bianucci brought Butler across the plate with a RBI single to give the E-Train an insurance run.

Clutch hitting helped the Express open the game up in the sixth as the E-Train loaded the bases with two outs for the hot-hitting Butler. The right fielder delivered, ripping a two-run single up the middle to push the Round Rock lead to 6-2.

The bullpen took over for Meek to start the seventh and the combination of Joseph Ortiz and Johan Yan finished off the final 3.0 innings. Meek earned his second victory on the season, improving to 2-3 while Flynn (2-8) suffered the loss.

The Express concludes the four-game homestand with the Zephyrs Sunday night at 7:05 p.m. Right-hander Scott Richmond (2-2, 7.68 ERA) will be handed the ball for the E-Train while southpaw Duane Below (4-2, 2.28 ERA) will toe the rubber for New Orleans. Sunday night will also be H-E-B Kid's Day at Dell Diamond featuring kiddie train rides, interactive inflatable games, a post-game run of the bases and much more!
