Romain Metanire Named a 2019 MLS All-Star

The Malagasy right back gets the nod in his first MLS season

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Minnesota United today announced that defender Romain Metanire has been selected to the 2019 MLS All-Star Game presented by Target by All-Star Head Coach James O'Connor of Orlando City. Metanire and his fellow All-Stars will take on 10-time La Liga champions Atlético de Madrid in the 2019 MLS All-Star Game presented by Target at Exploria Stadium in Orlando on Wednesday, July 31 (7:00 p.m. CT, FS1 / UniMás / TSN / TVA Sports).

Metanire has been a standout player on both ends of the field for MNUFC. He leads the team with six assists in his 14 appearances, and is currently on a three-game point streak. The Madagascar international has made four MLS Team of the Week appearances, including consecutive features in Weeks 12 and 13 after scoring a goal and providing an assist in back-to-back clean sheet performances.
