
Rodriguez and Vazquez Shine in Portland's 12-6 Win over New Hampshire

Portland, Maine - Eduardo Rodriguez worked four scoreless innings, Christian Vazquez had three RBIs, and the Sea Dogs (59-73) beat the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (73-58) 12-6 in the series opener on Monday night at Hadlock Field.
Rodriguez and Vazquez were both on an MLB rehab assignment for the Boston Red Sox. Rodriguez allowed just two hits over four innings while walking two and striking out six. Vazquez finished 1-for-2 with a sac fly, single, three RBIs and a run scored.
Portland got off to a quick start with two runs in the first and then five in the second to take a 7-0 lead off of Fisher Cats' starter Tayler Salcedo. Vazquez hit a sac fly in the first and a two-run single in the second. Jantzen Witte launched a three-run homer off the video board in left center to cap off the five-run second inning.
Witte matched a career-high with four hits and finished a triple shy of the cycle. He drove in four and scored twice.
Jeremy Rivera, Esteban Quiroz, Chris Madera, and Danny Mars all had multi-hit games for the Sea Dogs, who notched 16 hits in the ballgame.
Saucedo allowed 10 runs (nine earned) on nine hits over 4.2 innings for New Hampshire. He walked two and fanned three.
New Hampshire scored three runs in the fifth inning off of Trey Ball. Harold Ramirez finished 3-for-5 with a double and three RBIs. Bo Bichette had two hits, a double, an RBI, and a run scored.
Ball allowed three runs over three innings pitched in relief. Harrison Cooney worked a perfect eighth. The Fisher Cats added three more runs in the ninth off of Josh Taylor.
The Sea Dogs and New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays affiliate) continue their series on Tuesday night at Hadlock Field. RHP Teddy Stankiewicz (7-12, 4.49) makes his 24th appearance for Portland.
