The Kelowna Rockets added skill up front as they selected 18th overall in the first round of the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft.

Kelowna selected Vancouver, BC. native Trevor Wong of the St. George's School Bantam Varsity with their first pick in the draft.

The 5'8, 135 pound forward recorded 64 goals and 77 assists for a whopping 141 points in just 30 games this season with his bantam team. He also added 5 goals and 18 assists for 23 points in five post season games. Rockets General Manager Bruce Hamilton said Trevor is an exciting young player.

"Trevor is a very highly skilled player. He's a great skater with above average skill and hockey IQ," said Hamilton.

"He's a dynamic young player and he does everything at a high speed, and if he grows he will be lights out," said Lorne Frey, Assistant General Manager / Director of Player Personnel. "We've got some work to do and that will be up to us to sell him on our program."

The 18th pick was the Rockets first pick in this years draft.
