Kootenay Ice News Release

Cranbrook, B.C. - The Kootenay ICE selected 2003-born defenceman Carson Lambos second overall in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft on Thursday in Red Deer.

Lambos, a native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, played the 2017-18 season for the Rink Hockey Academy (RHA) Bantam Prep of the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL). In 30 regular season games, Lambos registered 15 goals and 25 assists for 40 points. He followed that up with five goals and 11 points in five playoff games.

During the regular season, the six-foot, 180-pounder led all defencemen in points in the CSSHL's Bantam Prep league. The 15 year old recorded the most goals, assists and points out of any defenceman on the RHA Bantam Prep team and also had the second-most points on the squad.

In addition, Lambos was named the 2017-18 CSSHL Bantam Prep Top Defenceman.

Lambos is the first defenceman to be selected by the ICE in the first round of the WHL Bantam Draft since Griffin Mendel was taken 11th overall in 2014.
