Saskatoon Blades News Release

Red Deer, Alta. - The Saskatoon Blades are proud to announce the selection of Colton Dach with the 6th overall pick in the 2018 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.

Colton, a native of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, appeared in 30 games with OHA Edmonton of the Canadian Sport School League in the 2017-18 season posting 22 goals and 69 points to go along with 28 penalty minutes.

Dach already stands at 6'0" tall and weighs in at 163lbs. The 15-year-old forward is described as a skilled, two-way, versatile power forward.

"Colton is extremely powerful and is a top 10 scorer in the CSSHL which is arguably the best bantam league in Canada," said Blades Director of Scouting Dan Tencer. "He can play a lot of different ways; we think can play down the middle, he can play the wing, he brings size and can be an absolute nightmare to play against."

Dach also happens to be the younger brother of Blades budding star Kirby Dach who was selected 2nd overall in the 2016 bantam draft.
