Rapid City Rush News Release
(RAPID CITY, SD) - The Rapid City Rush, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Arizona Coyotes, announced today that the Tucson Roadrunners, AHL affiliate of the Rush, have recalled goaltender Erik Källgren. This marks the third Black Hills Chiropractic Roster Adjustment of the week, and the first by an AHL call-up.
Källgren leaves the Rush after winning back-to-back starts. The 6'3", 200-pound net-minder started three times for the Rush since joining the team prior to the start of the season, and registered a 2-1-0-0 record with a 2.70 GAA and .924 SV%. He earned his first career ECHL win at Tulsa on October 20th, stopping all but one of 38 shots, and followed that with another victory on October 25th against Utah, stoning 27 of 30 shots in the team's home-opener.
Prior to playing professionally in North America, Källgren played five seasons in the Allsvenskan in his home nation of Sweden, posting a career record of 56-44-0 record in 105 games with 9 shutouts, a 2.39 GAA, and a .910 SV%. On an NHL contract with the Arizona Coyotes, he was drafted by Arizona in the 2015 NHL Draft (7th Rd-#183).
The Rush conclude home-opening weekend with a rematch against the Utah Grizzlies tonight, October 26th. Puck drop is slated for 7:05 p.m. at Rushmore Plaza Civic Center Ice Arena. Following the game, the Rush will auction off the 10th Anniversary Championship Throwback Jerseys that they're wearing throughout this weekend.
