OMAHA, Neb. - Michael Choice went 3-for-4 with two RBI, but the River Cats were unable to overcome Omaha's eight-run fifth inning, ultimately losing by a score of 9-4 on Friday night at Werner Park.

After three scoreless frames, the Storm Chasers broke the silence in the bottom of the fourth when Pablo Orlando doubled-home Brian Fletcher. An inning later, Omaha exploded for eight runs on seven hits, including two doubles from Gorkys Hernandez.

The River Cats got on the board in the top of the eighth inning when Choice singled to right field, scoring Anthony Aliotti and Jemile Weeks, followed by a sacrifice fly from Michael Taylor, plating Daric Barton. The Cats scored once more in the ninth on an RBI-single form Weeks, scoring Hiro Nakajima, but Sacramento could not complete the comeback, losing by a score of 9-4.

Starter Andrew Werner gave up six earned runs on eight hits and two walks with three strikeouts in 4.2 innings of work, falling to 10-13 on the year. Chris Resop hurled two scoreless innings of relief, while Weeks finished 1-for-3 with a run, an RBI and two walks.

The win was credited to Chasers starter Yordano Ventura who struck out nine in six innings, permitting only four hits and one walk on his way to his fourth victory of the year. Fletcher went 2-for-5 with two runs, three RBI and his third home run, while Hernandez went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI and two doubles-both of which came in the fifth inning.

The River Cats will look to get back on track at 5:05 p.m. on Saturday evening at Werner Park when Omaha lefty Chris Dwyer (8-9, 3.28 ERA) takes on a Sacramento starter who is to-be-determined.
