
RHP Terance Marin Added, Knights Open Homestand Tonight

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) - RHP Terance Marin, who was on loan by the Chicago White Sox to the Mexican League's Toros de Tijuana, was reinstated today and will join Charlotte's active roster. Marin, 25, posted a 2-5 record with a 4.94 ERA in 10 games (nine starts) with the Toros. Charlotte's roster is now set at 25 active players.
Signed by the White Sox as a free agent on July 12, 2010, Marin appeared in 14 games for the Winston-Salem Dash last season - posting a 4-3 record with a 4.22 ERA (10 starts). The Modesto, CA native also made two starts with Double-A Birmingham last season and compiled a 0-2 mark with a 4.97 ERA.
The Knights kick off their three-game homestand from BB&T Ballpark tonight with a 7:05 p.m. game against the Norfolk Tides (Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles). The Knights and Tides enter play tonight in a three-way tie with the Durham Bulls for the top spot in the IL South Division. After the game tonight, the Knights will light up the sky with post-game fireworks courtesy of BB&T, Cutter, and 107.9 The Link. One night later, the two teams will play game two of their series with a 7:05 p.m. game on Saturday evening. The Hickory Tavern KnightinGals will be on hand for Saturday's game.
On Sunday, the two teams will conclude their series with a 2:05 p.m. matinee game from BB&T Ballpark. Gates open at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday and the Knights will welcome 92-year-old marathon runner Harriette Thompson, a Charlotte native, to the ballpark to throw out a ceremonial first pitch. Sundays are Sunbelt Family Sundays, presented by Sunbelt Rentals. After Sunday's game, kids can "Run the Bases" presented by Academy Sports & Outdoors.
