
Pigs Fall to Indians, 5-2

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (21-35) fell to the Indianapolis Indians (33-23) by a score of 5-2 on Friday night at Coca-Cola Park.
Indianapolis took a 1-0 lead with a run in the top of the first as Jaff Decker laced an RBI double to right to score Gustavo Nunez.
The Indians opened up a 4-0 lead with three runs in the second. Gorkys Hernandez drove home a run with a single and Alen Hanson plated a pair with a two-run single in the inning.
All four runs were charged to IronPigs starter Jason Berken (3-3) who allowed the four runs on eight hits while walking one and fanning five over seven innings of work.
Lehigh Valley's Jayson Nix (2-4, HR, RBI, 2 R) cut the lead to 4-1 with a solo shot to left in the bottom of the third. It was the second home run of the season for Nix.
In the fifth, the Pigs cut the lead to 4-2 as Nix reached with a leadoff single, moved to second on a sac bunt and scored on Tyler Henson's RBI single.
RHP Casey Sadler (5-3) got the win for the Indians after surrendering two runs on six hits over 7.0 IP to go along with a walk and two strikeouts.
Indianapolis tacked on an insurance run in the ninth to extend the lead to 5-2 as Brent Morel delivered a pinch-hit RBI single to score Keon Broxton. The run was charged to Pigs LHP Nick Hill (1.1 IP, 2 H, R, ER, 2 K).
RHP Blake Wood (1.0 IP, H) retired Lehigh Valley in a scoreless ninth to pick up his 15th save of the season.
Brian Bogusevic extended his hitting streak to nine games for the IronPigs with a third inning single.
Saturday at 6:35 p.m. marks the third game of the four-game series as Pigs LHP Adam Morgan (0-5, 5.33) gets the start against Indians RHP Chris Volstad (3-2, 4.25).
