
Orioles Make Six Roster Moves

The Orioles today announced that they have reinstated CA MATT WIETERS from the 60-day disabled list, recalled INF REY NAVARRO from Triple-A Norfolk, and have selected the contract of LHP CESAR CABRAL from Triple-A Norfolk. In corresponding moves, the Orioles have optioned CA STEVE CLEVENGER and RHP MIKE WRIGHT to Triple-A Norfolk and have designated INF EVERTH CABRERA for assignment.
Wieters, 29, appeared in five rehab games between Double-A Bowie and Triple-A Norfolk and combined to hit .313 (5-for-16) with two walks, three runs scored, a home run, and three RBI. He began the season on the 15-day disabled list and was transferred to the 60-day disabled list on May 10. Wieters was placed on the disabled list last season on May 11 and underwent "Tommy John" surgery on June 17, 2014. In parts of six seasons with the Orioles, Wieters owns a .257 career batting average with 92 home runs and 346 RBI while throwing out 33% (136-of-418) of would-be base stealers.
Navarro, 25, is making his third stint with the Orioles this season. Earlier this season, he combined to hit .276 (8-for-29) with a home run and three RBI for the Orioles. In 14 games Triple-A Norfolk, Navarro batted .315 (17-for-54) with a home run and five RBI.
Cabral, 26, has not allowed a run this season between Double-A Bowie and Triple-A Norfolk. He owns a 2-0 record and a 0.00 ERA (0 ER/21.2 IP) over 21 relief appearances while fanning 25. Cabral owns a 7.71 ERA (4 ER/4.2 IP) over 12 career Major League relief appearances with the New York Yankees during the 2013 and 2014 seasons. He will wear uniform number 58.
Clevenger, 29, was recalled on May 26 from Triple-A Norfolk. He appeared in four games for the Orioles and hit .455 (5-for-11) with a double and one RBI.
Wright, 25, was recalled on May 13 and made his Major League debut on May 17 vs. the Los Angeles Angels. He did not allow a run until his third start, a span of 14.1 scoreless innings to begin his career. Wright made four starts for the Orioles and went 2-1 with a 2.96 ERA (8 ER/24.1 IP).
Cabrera, 28, appeared in 29 games for the Orioles this season and batted .208 (20-for-96) with two doubles and four RBI.
