Brampton Beast News Release

GLENS FALLS, NEW YORK - Luc-Olivier Blain scored his ninth goal of the season and Kenny Reiter stood on his head and made 40 saves but the Adirondack Thunder managed to squeak out a 3-1 win over the Brampton Beast at the Glens Falls Civic Center on Saturday night.

The Beast were the first to find the back of the net as Jordan Henry fired a puck toward the goal. It ricocheted off a man in front and landed right on the stick of Luc-Olivier Blain and he made no mistake netting his ninth goal of the season at 11:41 to give the Beast a 1-0 lead.

The lead would be short lived as the Thunder replied on the power play later in the period. Ryan Lomberg entered the zone with speed down the left side and fired a perfect shot into the top corner over the glove of Reiter, tying the game at one at 18:07.

The Beast took control in the second period and outshot the Thunder 15-14 but it was Adirondack who would earn the go-ahead goal.

The Thunder earned their first lead of the game at the 11:16 mark of the second period. Reiter was fantastic on the initial two shots he faced on the play but James Henry found the back of the net on the third rebound.

The Thunder, still in contention for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, came out flying in the third period and outshot the Beast 15-4 in the final frame.

Luke Curadi gave the Thunder a two-goal cushion in the latter half of the period. He blasted a shot on goal from the point and while Reiter got a piece, the puck managed to squeeze over the line for the game's final goal.

Reiter did more than enough to give his team a chance to win and made 40 saves, including 14 in the third period alone. Ken Appleby earned the win between the pipes for Adirondack and stopped all but one of the 28 shots he faced.

Notes: The Beast finished the game 0-for-3 on the power play and 1-for-2 on the penalty kill. Molson Three Stars: 3) Luke Curadi 2) James Henry 1) Ryan Lomberg.

The Beast and Thunder will square off for the final time this season tomorrow, Sunday, April 3 at 3:00 PM. The Beast then return home to host the Kalamazoo Wings on Wednesday, April 6 at 7:15 PM. Single game tickets are now available, starting at $16.25.
