Allen Americans News Release
Independence, Missouri - The Allen Americans defeated the Missouri Mavericks on Friday night by a score of 3-2 at Independence Events Center. It was the Americans first road victory in the season series.
David Makowski scored two goals including the game winner, while forward Nikita Jevpalovs chipped in a pair of assists to lead the way for Allen. Vincent Arseneau scored his 13th of the season and led Allen with seven shots on goal. Chad Costello picked up an assist to extend his point streak to 15 games.
"I'm happy we picked up the win, but there were several parts of our game tonight that I didn't like," said Allen Americans Head Coach Steve Martinson. "Our penalty kill was awful. I plan on addressing it with some of our key players in the morning."
Americans rookie netminder Jake Hildebrand made his third straight start for Allen, stopping 22 of 24 Missouri shots, including some key saves in the third period. Hildebrand improved to 2-1-0 with the win.
The Americans and Mavericks close out the season series tomorrow night in Missouri at 7:05 pm. You can watch the game on ECHL TV or listen for free online at www.hot1073fm.com.
