Quad City Mallards News Release
MOLINE, Ill. - Defenseman Richard Nedomlel has been reassigned to the Quad City Mallards from the American Hockey League's Chicago Wolves by the National Hockey League's St. Louis Blues, the Mallards announced today.
Nedomlel, 22, returns to the Mallards after being reassigned to Chicago Friday and playing for the Wolves in their 4-3 loss to the Lake Erie Monsters Friday evening. Nedomlel has now picked up two assists in 12 games with the Wolves this year after being acquired by the Blues from the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for future considerations on January 15. He has played seven games for the Mallards without recording a point since first being assigned to the Flock on March 17.
A native of Prague in the Czech Republic, the 6' 4", 225-pound Nedomlel also played two games earlier this season for the AHL's Grand Rapid Griffins. Nedomlel started the season with the ECHL's Toledo Walleye, for whom he notched a pair of assists in ten games.
Nedomlel spent each of his first two professional seasons with Toledo. He scored three goals and added 11 assists for 14 points in 49 games with the Walleye last season after producing eight goals, ten assists and 18 points as well as 150 penalty minutes in 60 games as a rookie in 2013-14.
Nedomlel, who was selected by Detroit in the sixth round of the 2011 National Hockey League Entry Draft with the one hundred seventy-fifth overall choice, skated for the Western Hockey League's Swift Current Broncos for three seasons before turning pro.
The Mallards return to action on home ice tomorrow at 4:05 p.m. against the Indy Fuel. Tomorrow will see the Mallards thank the fans of the Quad Cities for their support all season long with Fan Appreciation Day, featuring an array of giveaways and other surprises. Tomorrow also brings the season's final Skate with the Mallards presented by B100. Fans can bring their skates to the game and join the Mallards on the ice after that contest. After tomorrow's postgame skate fans will have another chance to meet Mallards players at Governor's Bar & Grill. Mallards will be on hand after the game at both Governor's locations: 2180 53rd Street in Moline and 3470 Middle Road in Bettendorf.
