
Red Wings Take Flight Late in Contest

(Rochester, NY) - The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (42-49) saw the Rochester Red Wings (37-52) take off as the game went on as they won 7-2. Rochester scored four runs in the fifth inning and three runs in the eighth inning.
Cristopher Sanchez (4-5) was stellar through the first four innings before he ran into trouble in the bottom of the fifth inning. Donovan Casey got the scoring going for Rochester as he scored on a balk by Sanchez. Nick Banks followed with a two-run single that scored Keibert Ruiz and Jake Noll. Sanchez was pulled for Damon Jones who gave up an RBI single to Ali Castillo that gave Rochester a 4-0 lead.
Austin Voth pitched two scoreless innings in a rehab start for Rochester before giving way to Ben Braymer (5-7) who pitched six innings in relief. Cornelius Randolph hit a two-run home run against Braymer in the top of the eighth inning that cut Rochester's lead to 4-2. The home run was Randolph's fifth of the season.
Rochester scored three runs against Ramon Rosso in the bottom of the eighth inning to take a 7-2 lead. Ruiz hit a two-run single and Casey scored on a wild pitch.
Sam Coonrod pitched a scoreless inning in relief for another rehab appearance for Lehigh Valley. Austin Ross followed with a scoreless inning of his own.
Lehigh Valley and Rochester will play a day/night double-header on Saturday at Frontier Field. First pitch of game one will get underway at 12:05 p.m. Game two will get underway at 6:05 p.m.
