
Rapid City Beats Grizzlies in Overtime in Series Finale

Rapid City, South Dakota - The Rapid City Rush (7-5-1-1) defeated the Utah Grizzlies (9-5-2-0) 4-3 in overtime Saturday night at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.
The first place Grizzlies finish 1-1-1-0 and collect three of six points on their trip to South Dakota against the second place Rush.
"It was good to come out with a point," said Grizzlies Head Coach/General Manager Tim Branham. "We played shorthanded all weekend, it will be good to get back home and rest."
The game went back and forth before ultimately being settled in overtime. Ryan Walters found Erik Higby for his fourth goal of the season 53 seconds after Rapid City took an early 1-0 lead.
The 1-1 score stayed until the third period when Ryan Misiak and Alex Krushelnyski got the puck to Charlie Sarault who scored his fifth goal of the year.
Utah's 2-1 lead lasted for 3:22 before Rapid City tallied two goals in 2:50 to all of a sudden take a 3-2 lead with 8:23 remaining.
Utah again tied the contest with Barry Almeida scoring his seventh of the year from the doorstep as Torin Snydeman carried the puck in and it was 3-3 with 3:26 left.
Rapid City won the contest 1:47 into the three-on-three overtime.
Grizzlies goaltender Ryan Faragher (9-1-1-0) stopped 19 of 23 shots in the contest.
