MANCHESTER, N.H. - Two power play goals were enough to hand the Admirals their second loss in a row against the Monarchs at the Verizon Wireless Arena Saturday night.

The Monarchs struck first when Matt White scored with an unassisted back-handed goal at 7:38 of the opening period. White stole the puck from the neutral zone and unloaded it in the corner of the net, beating Norfolk netminder Tyler Beskorowany to the post.

A power play opportunity gave Manchester a two-goal advantage when Alex Roach drove one from the right wing in front of the blue line that found itself between the pipes at 8:33 into the second period. The Admirals finally made their mark on the board when Tommy Mele shoved one in off a deflected shot made by Michael Pelech. Pelech grabbed possession in the middle of the blue lines and slung a shot that ricocheted off Monarch goalie Colin Stevens' pad towards the right post. Mele grabbed the loose puck and dumped it in at 13:43. The Monarchs responded minutes later with another power play goal when David Kolomatis redirected a shot from the top of the right wing circle at 16:53, ending the second period with Manchester on top, 3-1.

The third period extended the Monarch's lead by two more when Joe Diamond buried the puck at 8:22 from the middle of left circle. The final tally of the night was logged when Zac Larraza picked up the loose puck in the neutral zone and cranked a wrister from the left circle that found the back of the net at 9:27 in the third, securing another victory for Manchester and tipping the final score, 5-1 over Norfolk.

Beskorowany managed to block 30 of 35 shots fired into the Norfolk crease, with the Monarch's Colin Stevens shutting out 21 of 22 attempts, earning him the first start of the game. The Admirals went scoreless on five power play opportunities, with Manchester going 2-for-4.

The Admirals will wrap up their seven game road trip with a final matchup against the Monarchs tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 p.m. They will be back in Norfolk Wednesday night to battle the Greenville Swamp Rabbits for a 7:15 p.m. puck drop.
