Colorado Eagles News Release
(Loveland, CO) -- The Colorado Eagles beat the Idaho Steelheads 2-0 Saturday at the Budweiser Events Center. Goaltender Kris Lazaruk stopped all 22 shots for his first professional shutout, while Kyle Kraemer recorded two goals and Darryl Bootland hit the career milestone of 3,000 penalty minutes in the victory.
Kraemer continued his hot streak in the first period burying a one-time shot after the puck rebounded in front of the net. The Eagles led 1-0 with 4:35 to play in the first.
Less than a minute later, Bootland took a 5-minute major for fighting, bringing his career total to 3,000 penalty minutes.
Just 46 seconds into the second period, Kraemer got his second opportunity of the night going one-on-one with Idaho goaltender Phillipe Desrosiers. Kraemer beat Desrosier's glove-side high to give the Eagles a 2-0 lead.
The Steelheads pulled Desrosiers in favor of an extra skater with 1:30 play but they were unable to get it done with the extra man. With the win, Colorado captured five of a possible six points in the three-game series against the Steelheads.
The Eagles return to the ice on Wednesday, November 25th to face off against the Florida Everblades at the Budweiser Events Center at 7:05 PM.
