FACE-OFF AGAINST KIDS CANCER-Feb. 15: The Rampage team will treat their "buddy" to a special Rodeo experience next Tuesday at 7 p.m. The team will join child cancer patients from the Christus Santa Rosa Children's Hospital for mutton bustin' and bulls at the San Antonio Rodeo with a performance by Styx. Throughout the season Rampage players are paired with children from the Cen- ters for Oncology and Blood Disorders at Christus Santa Rosa, who are currently in either early stages of treatment for pediatric cancer or in remission, and will host a series of social events with the hope of generating lasting rela- tionships and increasing awareness about childhood can- cer in the community.
RODEO ROAD TRIPPING: The Rampage have experienced a strong start to their Rodeo road trip after going 2-0-0-0 in back-to-back contests with the Lake Erie Monsters this weekend. The nine-game, 22-day journey will extend 10, 710 miles and include stops in Cleveland, Oklahoma City, Manitoba, Syracuse, Hamilton and Toronto.
FOR THE RECORD: Several Rampage players reached milestones during the team's last contest on Feb. 5 at Lake Erie. Head Coach Ray Edwards coached in his 500th profes- sional hockey game while Nolan Yonkman skated in his 500th professional game and Matt Watkins played in his 100th professional contest. In addition, goaltender Al Montoya earned his 100th professional win and Brett MacLean recorded an assist to give him 79 career Rampage assists and sole possession of the franchise lead in that category.
THE EARLY BIRD GETS THE WORM: The Rampage are scheduled to play in five early day games this season and have gone an impressive 3-0-0-0 when competing at 1 p.m. or earlier. They have outscored their opponent 12-7 in those contests.
GOING THE EXTRA MILE: The Rampage are undefeated in shootouts this season after Al Montoya stopped all five Monsters shootout attempts in San Antonio's 5-4 victory on Feb. 5. The Rampage have claimed the second-best shootout shot percentage in the league at .550.
ICE CHIPS: J.D. Watt- Right wing
Right wing J.D. Watt recorded his first goal in a Rampage uniform on Feb. 4 to help San Antonio to a 4-3 win over the Lake Erie Monsters.
