(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Americans Vice President of Hockey Operations Ted Nolan announced today that the Florida Panthers have recalled rookie forward Scott Timmins from the Amerks. In an unrelated move, Rochester has also loaned first-year forward Chris Clackson to the Greenville Road Warriors of the ECHL.

Timmins earns his second call-up to the National Hockey League in six days and will join the Panthers in South Florida where they host the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday, February 8th. Faceoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. at the BankAtlantic Center.

After making his NHL debut against the Toronto Maple Leafs on February 1st, the 21-year-old Hamilton, Ontario, native netted his first big league goal the next night in Florida's 3-2 shootout loss to the Montreal Canadiens. Originally the Panthers' sixth-round selection (165th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Timmins has played in three games with the Panthers this season. In 45 American Hockey League games with the Amerks, the 5-foot-11, 191-pound Timmins has registered 22 points (10+12), the most among team rookies, and leads Rochester with a team-best plus-10 on-ice rating.

Clackson, 24, heads to Greenville after recording 13 points (5+8) and 57 penalty minutes in 27 games with the Cincinnati Cyclones (ECHL) this season. A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the 6-foot-0, 205-pound forward also appeared in 16 games with the Amerks to start the 2010-11 campaign, scoring two goals and adding two assists for four points.

The Amerks remain at home on Wednesday, February 9th as the Abbotsford Heat make their second and final appearance this season at The Blue Cross Arena. The 7:05 p.m. North Division contest will be broadcast live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK and FM 107.3, Rochester's Sports Talk. The game will also be televised live on Time Warner Cable SportsNet Channel 26.
