Ben Bishop Assigned to Peoria

St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has assigned goaltender Ben Bishop to the Blues' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen.

Bishop, 24, did not appear in a game for St. Louis in his most recent recall which began on Feb. 4. He has started 25 games for the Rivermen this season compiling a record of 13-11-1 including a 2.59 goals against average, .913 save percentage as well as two shutouts. The, 6'7, 215-pound goaltender appeared in six games for the Blues during the 2008-09 campaign including his NHL debut on October 24, 2008 against the Los Angeles Kings. Overall, his NHL career has yielded a recorded of 1-1-1 including a 2.94 goals against average and a .893 save percentage.

A native of St. Louis, Bishop was originally drafted by the Blues in the third round, 85th overall, of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
