San Antonio Rampage News Release
ALAMO COLLEGES STUDENT AND TEACHER APPRECIATION NIGHT-Jan. 15: This Saturday all San Antonio area high school students and teachers can attend the Rampage game at no charge, compliments of Alamo Colleges. A valid high school ID must be presented at the Box Office to receive a complimentary ticket.
CLIMIE-ING UP THE RANKS: Matt Climie made 24 saves to record his third shutout of the season in a 4-0 win over Houston on Jan. 8. This weekend he backstopped the Ram- page in back-to-back contests allowing only one goal on 52 shots he faced. Climie has recorded 16 wins on the year, one shy of the league best.
FANTASTIC FOUR: The Rampage have exemplified strong penalty killing as of late hav- ing allowed only six goals on 40 opportunities in their last 10 contests for an 85.0% suc- cess rate.
FOR THE RECORD: Several Rampage players hit milestones this week as center Andrew Ebbett skated in his 200th AHL game on Jan. 5, defenseman Garrett Stafford recorded his 300th professional point on Jan. 5, Head coach Ray Edwards coached his 100th AHL game on Jan. 7 and left wing Mikkel Boedker tallied his 100th professional point on Jan. 8.
HALF WAY THERE: The Rampage played their 40th game last night marking the halfway point of the regular season and proving to be the best record through 40 games (25-14-1- 0) in franchise history.
ICE CHIPS: Maxim Goncharov- Defenseman
Rookie defenseman Maxim Goncharov has four assists in his last three games and is on a three-game assist streak. On the year, he has added 12 points (4 goals, 8 assists) in 38 contests for the Rampage.
The Moscow, Russia native posted 14 goals and 23 assists for 37 points in 164 career games with CSKA Moscow over the course of the last four seasons.
Goncharov was drafted by the Phoenix Coyotes in the 5th round (123rd overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
THIS WEEK'S GAMES
Thursday, Jan. 13 vs. Grand Rapids Griffins
AT&T Center, 7:00 p.m.
The Rampage will host the Grand Rapids Griffins for the first time this sea- son. They hold a 2-0-0-0 advantage over the Griffins this season after defeat- ing them in back-to-back road contests on Dec. 4 and 5.
Saturday, Jan. 15 vs. Oklahoma City Barons
AT&T Center, 7:00 p.m.
The Rampage will face the Barons for the sixth time this year on Saturday night. San Antonio dropped a 4-1 decision to Oklahoma City in their last contest after posting four straight wins in their prior meetings.
Sunday, Jan. 16 @ Chicago Wolves
Allstate Arena, 4:00 p.m.
The Rampage will kick off a five-game road stint this Sunday at Allstate Arena. They have experienced great success against the Wolves this season going 3-0-0-0 in the series and outscoring the club 16-7.
Monday, Jan. 17 @ Rockford IceHogs
Rockford MetroCentre, 3:05 p.m.
The Rampage will travel to Rockford for the first time of the 2010-11 cam- paign as they look for their third straight win over their divisional opponent.
