WEST SIDE STORY

The Wolves tilt against Texas on Wednesday will be the first time they have faced off against a West Division opponent since Dec. 21; Chicago, which has notched a 9-11-1-1 mark against the West Division so far this season, will play 32 of its remaining 38 games against West Division foes.

WOLVES HEADLINES

--- NIGEL DAWES: Named the Reebok/AHL Player of the Week after posting five goals, six points and a +4 plus/minus rating in three games last week, which includes becoming the third player in Wolves history, and the first during their AHL history, to record four goals in a game on Wednesday ... Paces the Wolves and ranks fourth in the AHL with 19 goals and holds third on the club and is tied for 17th in the league with 32 points in 36 games this season ... Amassed eight goals and 14 points in his last 10 contests

--- DARREN HAYDAR: Dished out five assists in three games last week, which includes matching a team season-best three helpers on Wednesday ... Shares first on the team and third in the league with 39 points in 39 games this season ... Ranks second on the Wolves and fourth in the AHL with 26 assists, while his 13 goals hold second on the squad ... Posted 10 assists and 12 points in his last 10 contests

--- RYAN GARBUTT: Posted four points (2G, 2A) in three games last week, which includes his first two multiple-point AHL outings on Wednesday and Sunday ... Paces Wolves rookies and shares seventh overall on the team with 16 points in 29 games this season ... Ranks first among team first-year pros and shares fifth overall with nine goals ... Paces the Wolves and shares eighth in the AHL with a +15 plus/minus rating, which includes posting a plus or even rating in 25 of his 29 outings

--- MARK MATHESON: Accrued a career-high three assists and +4 plus/minus rating on Wednesday ... Ranks second among team defenseman and shares fifth overall on the Wolves with 13 assists and holds second among team blueliners and shares seventh overall on the team with 16 points in 34 games this season ... Ranks second on the squad with a +12 plus/minus rating, which includes recording a plus or even rating in 16 of his last 17 contests

WOLF TRACKS

--- The Wolves conclude a season-high seven-game homestand with four games at the Allstate Arena this week, which includes playing three home games in three nights for only the second time in team history on Jan. 14, 15 and 16; Chicago last hosted three games in three nights from Feb. 13 to Feb. 15, 1998.

--- Chicago scored five goals in the second period against Toronto on Wednesday, a season high and one shy of a franchise record; the Wolves have lit the lamp 59 times in the middle frame this year, the most markers in a single frame by any AHL team this season.

--- The Wolves have been held without a power-play goal in back-to-back games (zero for 11) for just the third time this season, and first since Dec. 5 and Dec. 8, a span of 14 games; the Wolves rank fourth in the AHL with a 22.0 conversion rate on the power play (44 of 200).

--- Left wing ANDREW KOZEK has tallied four points (2G, 2A) in his last six games after collecting four points (2G, 2A) in his first 29 games this season; the 24-year-old forward has posted eight points (4G, 4A) and + 5 plus/minus rating in 35 games this year.

--- The Wolves thwarted all four of Toronto's power-play chances on Sunday, the ninth time they have been perfect on the penalty kill; Chicago ranks 30th in the league with a 74.5 percent efficiency rating on the penalty kill overall this season (155 of 208).

--- The Wolves will wear commemorative "Fight Against Cancer" jerseys presented by Chase, available for fans to purchase or win, at home games on Jan. 14, Jan. 15 and Jan. 16. The one-of-a-kind jerseys, will be auctioned and raffled to benefit Little Heroes Pediatric Cancer Foundation, Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation, Chicago Wolves Charities and other cancer-related charities. WOLVES REWIND (1-1-0-1)

Sun., Jan. 9 Toronto 4, (at) Chicago 3 (SO) --- The Wolves held three leads over the course of the game but the Toronto Marlies fought back each time and were eventually victorious in a shootout, 4-3, at the Allstate Arena --- Forwards RYAN GARBUTT (G, A), ANDREW KOZEK (G, A) and DARREN HAYDAR (2A) each posted multiple points for Chicago --- Goaltender DREW MacINTYRE made 34 saves in regulation and overtime and stopped one of four attempts in the shootout

Sat., Jan. 8 Hamilton 4, (at) Chicago 1 --- The Wolves drew an AHL season-high 15,654 fans but fell, 4-1, to the Hamilton Bulldogs at the Allstate Arena --- Left wing NIGEL DAWES scored the lone goal for Chicago --- Goaltender PETER MANNINO made 32 saves on 36 shots

Fri., Jan. 5 (at) Chicago 9, Toronto 3 --- Left wing NIGEL DAWES scored four goals in a 9-3 rout of the Toronto Marlies at the Allstate Arena --- Forwards DARREN HAYDAR (3A) and RILEY HOLZAPFEL (2G) and defensemen MARK MATHESON (3A) and JAIME SIFERS (2A) all added multiple points --- Goaltender DREW MacINTYRE made 32 saves
