Hershey Bears News Release
After collecting three points out of four this past weekend in Winnipeg, the HERSHEY BEARS Hockey Club will complete a three-game road trip Friday in Glens Falls, NY against Adirondack. The Chocolate and White will then return home to face Lake Erie Saturday at Giant Center in a 7:00 p.m. faceoff. Three games in as many nights will wrap up Sunday with a road game in Binghamton against the Senators. Faceoff on Sunday in New York state is 5:05 p.m.
Andrew Gordon, who scored two goals Friday in Winnipeg, leads the team in goals and points entering the new week. Kyle Greentree enters the week second behind Gordon in both categories. Goaltender Braden Holtby leads the team in wins with 10, with Dany Sabourin holding down nine victories.
The appearance by the Monsters on Saturday, the top developmental affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, will be the only visit by the club this season. Former BEARS goaltender Jason Bacashihua plays for Lake Erie this season. Tickets are on sale now at the Giant Center box office, or by calling (717) 534-3911.
Three out of four isn ¬â¢t bad: The BEARS took three points out of four in two games in Winnipeg this past weekend, the first two games of a three-game road trip. Playing as far away geographically as the team will be all season, HERSHEY won Friday ¬â¢s game in regulation 4-3 before falling 4-3 in overtime Saturday night at MTS Centre.
Consistency is the key: The BEARS have earned points in seven of its last eight games (6- 1-1-0) dating back to December 19th ¬â¢s game against Charlotte.
Home cooking on the horizon: Saturday ¬â¢s home game against Lake Erie begins a stretch of six home games in the next eight for Mark French ¬â¢s team. The two road games in the stretch, which will lead the Chocolate and White up to the All-Star break, will both be played in Binghamton against the Senators at Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena (January 16 and January 28).
Hard to believe, but ¬Â¦ Sunday ¬â¢s road game in Binghamton is the halfway point of the 2010-11 regular season. HERSHEY will have 40 games complete and 40 remaining after Sunday ¬â¢s game in New York ¬â¢s southern tier.
Practice schedule: The BEARS hit the ice on Tuesday and Wednesday morning at Giant Center at 10:00 a.m. and will also skate Thursday morning at 9:00 a.m. prior to the team ¬â¢s departure to Glens Falls, NY. Media availability will be approximately 11:15 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, and approximately 10:15 a.m. on Thursday.
Upcoming promotions: Saturday, January 15 is Ames Services Rally Towel Night at Giant Center, with the first 6,000 fans through the gates receiving a free BEARS rally towel. Friday, January 21 is MetroBank Drawstring Backpack night, free to the first 3,000 fans.
