Anaheim Reassigns Defenseman John de Gray to Crunch

Syracuse, NY (January 10, 2011) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Anaheim Ducks have reassigned defenseman John de Gray from Elmira (ECHL) to Syracuse.

de Gray, 22, has appeared in four games with the Crunch this season, going scoreless with two penalty minutes. He made his Crunch debut on December 8 at Norfolk. In addition, de Gray has skated in 23 contests with Elmira this season, recording nine points (2g, 7a) and 32 penalty minutes.

A native of Richmond Hill, Ontario, de Gray has appeared in a combined 113 AHL games with the Crunch, Portland, Iowa and Rochester since 2007-08, registering 13 points (3g, 10a) and 98 penalty minutes. He was selected by Anaheim in the third round, 83rd overall, in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

The Crunch finish off their season-high seven game road trip on Friday, January 14 at Hamilton before finally returning home for a Saturday, January 15 match-up vs. Rochester at 7:30 p.m. at The Oncenter War Memorial Arena.
