Rampage to Celebrate Five Days of Pink
January 24, 2014 - American Hockey League (AHL)
San Antonio Rampage News Release
SAN ANTONIO (Jan. 24, 2014) - The San Antonio Rampage will host a week long pink-themed celebration beginning Monday leading up to their fourth annual Pink in the Rink Night, presented by the Cancer Therapy & Research Center, at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31 against the Toronto Marlies at the AT&T Center.
Fans will have a unique opportunity to see the Rampage compete on ice dyed pink in honor of breast health awareness. Last season the Rampage set a franchise attendance record welcoming a sell-out crowd of 16,205 on Feb. 1 to the AT&T Center to watch the Silver & Black shutout the Rockford IceHogs 1-0.
The Rampage will once again wear custom pink ribbon-themed jerseys that will be auctioned off to the public immediately following the game. A portion of the proceeds from the auction and ticket sales will benefit breast health awareness efforts. To date, the annual Pink in the Rink games have raised $116,000 to help in the fight against breast cancer.
The pink week celebration kicks off Monday when T-Bone hits the streets of San Antonio from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in the Red McCombs Toyota Pink Rav-4. T-Bone will be surprising area breast cancer survivors with Rampage Pink in the Rink gift bags.
Tuesday, the Rampage will invite local breast cancer survivors to the AT&T Center for a Survivor Skate at 7:00 p.m. The Survivor Skate, which will take place on the newly unveiled pink ice, will give the Rampage players an opportunity to show their support in the fight against breast cancer while getting to know local survivors.
Wednesday, T-Bone will be handing out free samples of Pink Lemonade from 7:00 - 7:30 p.m. outside the East Entrance of the AT&T Center prior to the Spurs game against the Chicago Bulls.
Thursday, hockey fans are invited to join Rampage players and staff for a happy hour at Rosario's Restaurant y Cantina (910 S. Alamo Street) from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Rosario's is partnering with the Rampage to donate a portion of the proceeds from the happy hour to breast health awareness. Rampage players will help serve food and drinks, including Rosario's famous pink "La Tuna" Margarita, in appreciation of the public's support.
The Rampage kick off a three-in-three set tonight when they face off against the Iowa Wild at 7:30 p.m. on a KZEP / Bud Light Dollar Drink Night at the AT&T Center. Tickets can be purchased by calling a Rampage representative at 210-444-5554 or online at sarampage.com.
