Dalton Prout Returned to Springfield

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons announced Friday that defenseman Dalton Prout was returned on loan to the club by the Columbus Blue Jackets, the team's NHL affiliate.

Prout, who was loaned to Springfield January 14 and recalled by Columbus two days later, has appeared in 27 games with the Blue Jackets this season, recording two assists, 33 penalty minutes and a -6 rating. He has not appeared in a game with the Falcons in 2013-14.

In 2012-13, the LaSalle, Ontario native notched seven points (one goal, six assists), 25 penalty minutes and a +15 rating in 28 games with Columbus, while totaling nine points (one goal, eight assists), 73 penalty minutes and a +4 rating in 40 games with Springfield. He also split time between the Blue Jackets and Falcons in 2011-12, suiting up in 62 games with Springfield and five with Columbus.

Prout was a sixth-round (154th overall) draft selection of the Blue Jackets in 2010.

The Falcons return to action on the road Friday, January 24 versus the Hartford Wolf Pack at the XL Center. The team is back at the MassMutual Center Saturday, January 25 to host the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at 7:00 p.m.
