
Rampage Sign NHL Veteran Goalie Manny Legace

SAN ANTONIO (September 30, 2011) - San Antonio Rampage General Manager Mike Santos announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has signed goaltender Manny Legace a professional try-out (PTO). In addition, the Florida Panthers have assigned goaltender Tyler Plante to the Rampage.
Legace, 38, has appeared in 367 career National Hockey League (NHL) games posting a 187-100-42 record with a 2.49 goals against average and a .911 save percentage over the course of 11 seasons split between Los Angeles (1998-99), Detroit (1999-06), St. Louis (2006-09) and Carolina (2009-10).
The Toronto, Ontario native has appeared in 148 career AHL games with Springfield (1994-98), Grand Rapids (2005-06), Peoria (2008-09) and Chicago (2009-10) collecting a 70-54-17 record and a .905 save percentage. His 20-12-4 record and 2.27 goals against average during the 1995-96 season with the Falcons earned him the Aldege (Baz) Bastien and the Harry (Hap) Holmes Memorial Awards.
Legace has played in more than 600 professional games between the NHL, AHL, IHL and ECHL. He was selected by the Hartford Whalers in the eighth round (188th overall) of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft.
The Rampage travel to Austin tonight to take on the Texas Stars at 7:30 p.m. at Cedar Park Center for their first exhibition game of the season. The team will return to San Antonio tomorrow to host the Stars for a 3 p.m. battle at Northwoods Ice Center, the official practice facility of the Rampage.
