Canadiens Assign Joonas Nattinen to Bulldogs

MONTREAL (September 30, 2011) - The Montreal Canadiens announced today that forward Joonas Nattinen has been assigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs.

Nattinen, 20, played in 21 total games last season in the SM-liiga in Finland. The 6-foot-2, 187-pound centre competed in 11 games with the Espoo Blues earning six penalty minutes and 10 games with HPK Hameenlinna recording two assists and six penalty minutes. The native of Jamsa, Finland also represented Finland at the 2011 World Junior Championships scoring three goals in six games. Nattinen was drafted by the Canadiens in the 3rd round, 65th overall in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

The 'Dogs open their 2011 pre-season tonight when they host the Binghamton Senators for a 7:30 p.m. game at Colisee Desjardins in Victoriaville, Quebec. The Bulldogs and Senators will meet for a rematch tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. at the Centre Marcel-Dionne in Drummondville, Quebec. Both games can be heard live on AM 820 CHAM.

The Bulldogs will open their 2011-2012 season at home on Saturday, October 8th at 7:00 p.m. at Copps Coliseum against the Rochester Americans.
