San Antonio Rampage News Release

Des Moines, Iowa - Scott Stirling stopped a team season-high 44 shots to help the San Antonio Rampage win their first road game of the season in their fifth attempt Friday night at Wells Fargo Arena. Brent Cullaton scored his first goal of the season for the game-winner at 10:24 in the third period to lift the Rampage to a 2-1 victory over the Iowa Stars and snap an eight-game winless streak.

Playing in their second game of three consecutive nights, the Rampage (5-11-0-1) move in front of Iowa (5-9-0-0; 10 pts) into 5th place in the West Division standings with 11 points.

Stirling recorded his first win after four starts since being acquired on Nov. 2. The son of the New York Islanders head coach Steve Stirling eclipses Steve Passmore's season-opening save total of 40 set at Houston on Oct. 7.

Yanick Lehoux, on a conditioning assignment from Phoenix, gave the Rampage an early lead scoring a short-handed goal with 50 seconds remaining in the opening period. Martin Sonnenberg extended his point-scoring streak to four games assisting on Lehoux's goal along with defenseman Brad Ference.

Iowa's Junior Lessard lifted the Dallas Stars affiliate to a 1-1 tie with 2:06 remaining in the second period.

Cullaton broke open the 1-1 game with his first AHL point this season as Tim Jackman collected his second assist in as many games and his third assist in four games.

Stirling carried the Rampage for the remainder of the game stopping 20 shots alone on the final frame.

San Antonio is now 5-2-0-1 in one-goal decisions; their first win since the 4-3 shootout victory against Manchester on Oct. 21.
