
P-Bruins Fall to Monarchs 4-3

Providence, RI -- The Providence Bruins fell to the Manchester Monarchs 4-3 at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Friday night. Ben Guite, David Lundbohm and Tyler Redenbach each had goals for the Bruins, while Eric Healey had two assists.
Manchester opened up the scoring at the 8:54 mark of the first period when Jeff Tambellini scored his eighth goal of the season. Brad Smyth and Matt Ryan received the assists. The Monarchs took a 2-0 lead into the first intermission after Ryan scored from the near circle on P-Bruins goaltender Tim Thomas.
Manchester started the scoring in second period as well when Tambellini tallied his second goal of the game to give the Monarchs a 3-0 lead. Providence pulled within two heading into the second intermission after Zdenek Blatney fed Lundbohm who scored shorthanded.
The P-Bruins began the scoring just 1:05 into the third period when Redenbach took a pass from Healey and backhanded it past Monarchs netminder Barry Brust. The play was set up by Jonathan Sigalet a brought the Bruins within a goal. Manchester reopened a two-goal lead when Smyth scored from the far circle. The P-Bruins cut the deficit to one once again on Guite's third goal of the season. Redenbach and Healey had assists on the power play goal. The Bruins had two power play opportunities late in the third period, but could not score and fell to the Monarchs 4-3.
For the Bruins, Thomas stopped 19 of 23 shots, while Brust stopped 42 of 45 for the Monarchs. Providence finished the night 1 for 7 on the man advantage, while Manchester was 1 for 5 on the power play.
The Bruins are at the Cumberland County Civic Center Saturday, November 19 to take on the Portland Pirates at 7:05 p.m. before returning home to the Dunkin' Donuts Center Sunday, November 20 to face the Albany River Rats, at 4:05 p.m. Tickets are available at the Dunkin' Donuts Center box office and all TicketMaster outlets.
