Game Notes:

The Rochester Americans (9-5-0-0, 18 points) host the Syracuse Crunch at 7:35 p.m. tonight in the first game of a home-and-home series against the rival Syracuse Crunch. The two-game set begins at The Blue Cross Arena this evening and ends Saturday in Syracuse. Tonight's contest will be televised tape delayed on Time Warner Cable Channel 98 on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on WBER 90.5-FM and webcast on the B2 Networks. The game is also available to on-line viewers on the B2 Networks for a $6.00 fee.

Promotions:

The first 5,000 fans will receive a trading card of Amerk Hall of Fame center Bronco Horvath (1956-57; 1962-69). Among his accomplishments are three Calder Cup rings and three AHL All-Star selections.

Head-to-Head:

The Crunch lead the season series against Rochester with a record of 1-0-0-0. Syracuse defeated the Amerks 6-3 on October 22nd in the first of 12 meetings this season.

Amerks Notes:

Rochester remains in third place in the North Division, four points behind first-place Manitoba. The Amerks have won two of their last three games and have a two-game home winning streak. Right wing Jason Pominville leads the AHL with 15 goals and nine power-play goals in 13 games. He is also tied for fifth in the league with 20 points. Left wing Michael Ryan is on a three-game point streak (2+1). On Tuesday night, Amerk forward Gregory Campbell, who is on recall by the Florida Panthers, scored his first NHL goal in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Montreal Canadiens.

Player Move:

On Tuesday, the Amerks added defenseman Martin Lojek (LOW-jeck) from the Florida Everblades (ECHL). This season, Lojek has played in five games with the Everblades and has recorded one goal and three assists. The promotion to the AHL was the first of his professional career. The native of the Czech Republic was the Florida Panthers' fourth-round selection (105th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

All-Time Team Voting:

Fan balloting for the Rochester Americans 50th Anniversary Team starting lineup has begun. Fans can choose three forwards, two defensemen and one goalie for the All-Time Team, with the results being announced in February. Voting will be conducted online at amerks.com and in the arena at the Amerks customer service table at The Blue Cross Arena during home games. Voting concludes on Wednesday, February 1st.

Crunch Notes:

Syracuse (7-7-0-0, 14 points) enters the contest on a three-game winning streak. The Crunch are currently tied for sixth in the North Division. Last night, Syracuse defeated the Cleveland Barons 4-3 at Quicken Loans Arena. Pascal Leclaire earned the win in goal in a 31-save performance. Mike Rupp and Darcy Verot made their Crunch debuts in the victory. Defenseman Aaron Johnson has notched a point in four of his last six games (six assists).

Next Game:

On Saturday, the Amerks travel to Syracuse to battle the Crunch at 7:30 p.m. at the War Memorial at Oncenter. The game will be broadcast on WHTK 1280-AM and webcast on the B2 Networks. The contest is also available to on-line viewers on the B2 Networks for a $6.00 fee.

Rochester hosts the Binghamton Senators on Wednesday, November 23rd at 7:05 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena.
