Ayers signs American Hockey League contract

Syracuse, NY - The Dayton Bombers of the ECHL and Syracuse crunch of the American Hockey League announced that goaltender Mike Ayers has signed an AHL contract. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Ayers, 25, has appeared in four games with Syracuse this season, posting a 3-1-0 record, 1.80 goals against average and .943 save percentage. A native of Hingham, Massachusetts, Ayers appeared in six games with Dayton (ECHL), posting a 3-3-0 record and 3.49 goals against average. "We all know how great a person Mike is, and it's nice to see him get this opportunity," said Bombers head coach and general manager Don Macadam. "There's no question he deserves it."

The Dayton Bombers, proud "AA" affiliate of the National Hockey League's Columbus Blue Jackets, are celebrating their 15th Anniversary this season.
