Norfolk Admirals News Release

Both teams fired 11 pucks on net in the first, but the Penguins were the only team to dent the twine. With Wilkes-Barre on the power play, Matt Hussey took a Chris Kelleher pass at the point and skated to the faceoff dot to left of Admirals netminder Adam Munro. Hussey fired a quick wrist shot that eluded Munro glove side high at 15:08 of the first. The Baby Pens took a 1-0 lead to the first intermission.

The second stanza saw two more Penguins goals as Guillaume Lefebvre (even strength) and Michel Ouellet (5-on-3 power play) found the back of the net. The Admirals launched 12 more shots on Fleury, but the Wilkes-Barre goalie continued to stymie the home squad. With 40 minutes gone, the Pens held a 3-0 advantage.

In the final frame, Brian Lee finally got the Admirals on the board with his first of the year at the 2:41 mark. But Fleury and Penguins would not allow another puck in their net, and held on for the 3-1 win.

Adam Munro made 32 stops in net for Norfolk while Fleury finished with 34 saves to earn the win.

Norfolk was 0-7 on the power play while Wilkes-Barre/Scranton was 2-8.
