
Pride dominate Generals 5-1

FLORENCE, SC -- In their first game since switching their name back to the Pee Dee Pride, the Pride dominated the Greensboro Generals, winning 5-1 in front of 3,554 fans at the Florence Civic Center on Friday night
Jeff Szwez netted his first professional hat trick, and also added an assist, while Kyle Kidney added three assists. Matt Underhill made 42 saves for his 10th win of the season.
Greensboro tallied the first goal of the game at the 12:44 mark of the opening period, as Geno Parrish tallied his 10th goal of the season on the power play.
It was all Pride after that, as Shaun Sutter tied the game with 1:46 left in the first period. The Pride went ahead for good at 6:45 of the second, as Szwez tallied his first of the night. Szwez came right back with his second of the game at 8:38.
The Pride added two in the third, as Allan Sirois scored at 2:35, and Szwez capped the hat trick at 12:29.
Pee Dee ends its season Saturday, with an 8:00 face off at Gwinnett. The Palmetto Chiropractic Pre-Game Show starts at 7:40 on WDAR Sunny 105.5.
