Beaumont, TX (April 2, 2004) – The Wildcatters shutout the Long Beach Ice Dogs 2-0

in their first-ever meeting at Ford Arena. Netminder Davis Parley earned the first shutout in Wildcatters history, making 21 saves.

The game got off to a slow start as the two teams combined for 15 shots in a scoreless first period.

Tony Lawrence opened up the scoring for the Wildcatters at the 13:04 mark of the second period as he took a centering feed from Ryan Fultz to tally his 17th goal of the season. John Snowden also assisted on the lone goal of the period. Parley turned away all 12 shots he faced through the first two periods.

The Wildcatters doubled their lead early in the third period as Mark Jackson took a pass from Snowden to record his seventh goal of the year. Rob Guinn was credited with the second assist on the goal. Parley earned his 17th win of the year as well as his first professional shutout.
