Steelheads announce roster changes
April 2, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Idaho Steelheads News Release
BOISE, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads announced today that forward Lance Galbraith has been called up to its AHL affiliate Utah Grizzlies. Also, defenseman Mick Mounsey has been added to the roster and will see action for the first time in a Steelheads jersey tonight in Fresno.
The 5'11, 195 pound Lance Galbraith is currently second in scoring for Idaho with 22 goals and 23 assists, and two hat tricks this season. He leads the team in penalty minutes, second in the ECHL, with 353 - an Idaho Steelheads season record. Galbraith received team honors last week when he was voted the team's Unsung Hero and Most Inspirational. In addition, Idaho Steelheads fans named Galbraith Fan Favorite for the 2003-04 season. The call up to Utah is not the first AHL call up for the 24-year old, as he has played in 23 games with various AHL teams during his three-year professional career.
Mick Mounsey, a 5'11, 200 pound defenseman will play his first professional game tonight, having played three seasons with the NCAA University of New Hampshire (UNH). Mounsey was credited with an assist in UNH's 5-4 Hockey East semifinal victory over UMass in 2002-03, and finished with the highest plus/minus rating on UNH team in 2001-02. Of note, Mounsey's sister Tara played women's hockey at Brown University and was a member of the 1998 USA Women's Hockey Gold Medal team and 2002 Silver Medal team.
The Idaho Steelheads conclude its 2003-04 regular season with two games this weekend at the Fresno's Save Mart Center against the Falcons. Idaho is 7-1-1 against Fresno this season, and 32-22-4 all time.
The Steelheads will open the Kelly Cup Playoffs in Las Vegas on Tuesday, April 6th and Friday, April 9th, 8:05 pm MST. All games can be heard live on ESPN 1350 KTIK with Britt Talbert behind the mic, or via the Internet through the Steelheads website, www.idahosteelheads.com. Game three will be played in Boise's Bank of America Centre on Saturday, April 10th. Ticket prices range from $12.00 to $29.00 for adults and $9.00 to $19.25 for youth and seniors. Tickets are available at the Bank of America Centre box office, by visiting any Select-A-Seat outlet, by calling 331-TIXS (8497), or by logging on to www.idahotickets.com or www.idahosteelheads.com.
